Alice Louise Lenhardt

June 24, 1927 – May 5, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 9, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph for Alice Louise Lenhardt, 87, of St. Joseph who died May 5, 2015. Reverend Jerome Tupa, OSB will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 PM Friday and after 9:30 AM on Saturday both at Heritage Hall, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, in St. Joseph. Parish prayers will be at 6:30 PM on Friday at the church in St. Joseph.
Alice was born on June 24, 1927 in Wahpeton, North Dakota to Royal and Louise (Poland) Dynes. She married Thomas “Pete” Lenhardt on December 26, 1951 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. Alice taught English and Music in Almont, Mott, Belfield, Noonan, Towner, Parshall and Bismarck, North Dakota. In 1970 Alice and Pete moved to St. Joseph. She taught at St. Anthony’s Catholic School, substituted at various schools, and worked for Sears for over 20 years. She was the parish organist at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for many years and also served on the liturgy committee. She was a longtime P.E.O. member.
Alice is survived by: children, Susan (Janet) Lenhardt of St. Paul, Thomas (Suzanne) of Dewitt, Michigan; Roy of Denver, Colorado; Elizabeth (David) Finch of Afton, Minnesota; grandchildren, Haley, Harry, and Emma Finch of Afton; brother George Dynes of Dickinson, North Dakota; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pete, brothers Charles and Robert.
Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph’s Parish.
