Alvin J. "Al" Schreiner

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Daniel Funeral Home Chapel in St. Cloud for Alvin J. “Al” Schreiner, age 83, of St. Cloud, who passed away July 28, 2014 at the V.A. Medical Center in St. Cloud. Reverend Al Stangl will officiate. Burial will take place in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls with full military honors. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.

Al was born February 20, 1931 in St. Nicholas, MN to John and Elizabeth M. (Schmit) Schreiner. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1949 and then went on to serve in the U.S. Army in Italy. He worked at Ford Motor Company in St. Paul and at DeZurik in Sartell. Al enjoyed fishing, hunting, movies, reading, rides in the country, lunch with friends, trips to the casino and time spent with nieces, nephews and family.

Alvin is survived by his sister Marcella Thyen of New Brighton, brother Robert “Bob” (Marilyn) Schreiner of St. Cloud, sister-in-law Lucille (Traut) Schreiner of Sartell, and 43 nieces and nephews.

Preceding Al in death were his parents, brothers and sisters, Raymond Schreiner, Loretta Schreiner, Aurelia (Thul) Grant, Bernadine Christman, Werner “Dave” Schreiner, Edmund Schreiner, Wendelin “Van” Schreiner, Caroline Schreiner and Gebhard “Geb” Schreiner.
