Arthur J. Hinnenkamp

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Arthur J. Hinnenkamp, 89, originally of Melrose will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Clearwater. Art passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Mother of Mercy Assisted Living in Albany. Reverend Dennis Backer will officiate. Burial will be Friday, January 19, 2018 at 12:00 noon.
Art was born on September 18, 1928 in Melrose to Alex and Mary (Zirbes) Hinnenkamp. He graduated from Melrose High School and proudly joined the US Navy at the age of seventeen. After his experience as an Electronic Technician Third Class, he furthered his education and began his career as an Electrical Engineer. His wide range of engineering experience included computer technology, missile technology, and medical equipment. He married Donna Thielen in 1950 in St. Rosa. In their retirement years they were members of St. Luke’s Parish.
Art is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Ken of Florida, Bob (Deb) of Excelsior, Lea (Jeff) Gallagher of Sartell, Jeff of Otsego, Eileen Taniguchi of Texas; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and sister, Erma Schriver of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Al, Donald and Gene.
