Beverly J. "Corky" Graf-Skaj

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Daniel Funeral Home Chapel in St. Cloud, MN for Beverly Jeanne Skaj age 83, who died on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date at North Star Cemetery in St. Cloud, MN. The Reverend Thomas Knoblach and Pastor Dominic Dinger will officiate.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Saturday at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Beverly was born on January 6, 1932 in St. Paul, MN the daughter of Richard and Bessie (Luther) Bormes. As an infant, Bev acquired the name "Corky" which remained with her, her entire life. She graduated from Technical High School in St. Cloud, in 1952. She married Clayton Graf in Webster, SD. They later divorced.

She was an active volunteer for many years. Bev gave numerous educational programs about Epilepsy, a disorder she lived with. She spent ten years on the Stearns County Community Corrections Advisory Board and nine years on the Stearns County Human Services Board. She was given the outstanding co-worker of the year for Minnesota Women of the Moose Chapter 417 and a past Senior Regent in 1999.

In 1981, Bev married Edward Skaj and they made their home in St. Cloud.

She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud, Secular Franciscan Order of Little Falls, MN, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), V.F.W. Post 4847Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and Women of the Moose.

In addition to her husband Edward, she was preceded in death by; one daughter Robin Graf, and one step son Mike Skaj.

Bev is survived by; three children Richard Graf of Sauk Rapids, MN, Michelle (Erling) Teigen of Clearwater, MN, and Danelle Graf (Bruse Lance) of St. Cloud, MN, six step­children Joe, John and Jackie Skaj, Anita Bloom, Tina (Virgil) Orbeck and Joanne (Randy) Willmensen, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, two brothers, Richard and Robert Bormes, other relatives and many friends.

Memorials are preferred.
