Cecelia M. Schechter

November 22, 1918 – August 15, 2015

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud for Cecelia M. Schechter, age 96, of Sartell and formerly of Waite Park and St. Cloud, who passed away at the Country Manor on Saturday, August 15, 2015. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Burial of the urn will take place in St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery in Waite Park.

 

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 9:30 a.m. Friday all at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Cecelia was born on November 22, 1918 in Waite Park, Minnesota to Peter and Elizabeth (Euteneuer) Beckers. She married Harold G. Schechter in Hallock in 1937. Cecelia was a homemaker the majority of her life. She was a lifelong member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, fishing, and traveling. Cecelia loved the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Donald (Mary Ann) of Knoxville TN, Charles of Cold Spring, Kenneth (Monica) of Shorewood, and Dennis of Cold Spring; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Adeline Pflipsen; and many nieces and nephews.

Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold in 1983; daughter, Janice Fiedler in 1979; brothers and sisters, Hubert, Viola Klein, Edmund, Beatrice Behrendt, Sylvester, Leonard, and Jerome.

Memorials are preferred to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
