April 30, 1923 – February 16, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville for Charles C. Ampe, age 91 of Paynesville who passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Centra Care Health Paynesville Hospital. Reverend Glenn Krystosek will officiate. Burial will take place with military honors at the Paynesville Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the church in Paynesville. Arrangements were made by the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home, Paynesville.

Charles was born April 30, 1923 in Paynesville, Minnesota to Celest and Cornelia (Moorse) Ampe. He graduated from Paynesville High School in 1943. Charles was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He married Margaret Orndorff on February 22, 1952 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Charles was a member of St. Louis Parish, Knights of Columbus Council #3820 and American Legion Post #271.

Charles is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Charles E. (Karen) of Belgrade, Robert (Linda) of Savage, Catherine (Paul) Bernatchez of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, David (Ardith) of Paynesville, Ronald (Nancy) of Coon Rapids; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Margaret Buttweiler; brothers, Peter, Matt, John, Aloysius, Henry, Joe, Celest Jr., and Cyril.
