Christopher was born March 5, 2004 in St. Cloud to Richard Buermann and Karen Svihel-Buermann. Christopher was born with a congenital heart defect, Trisomy 21, congenital glaucoma, bilateral hearing loss and later in life had a dislocated knee. Even though he had many physical challenges, he was a joy to have in everyone’s lives. His smile lit up the room! He was charismatic and made friends wherever he went.

Christopher was a 4th grader at Paynesville Elementary School. Throughout his schooling, he had many wonderful teachers, specialists, and assistants to help him learn all he could. His auntie and PCA, Lynn Buermann, played a vital role in his advancement throughout the years. Christopher made his First Communion and participated in weekly mass at St. Louis Catholic Church. He knew all his prayers through sign or words. You could often see Chris dancing to the music. Christopher also participated in Special Olympic Bowling winning many medals and ribbons. He loved swimming, gardening with Auntie Lynn & Uncle Al in their numerous gardens, sledding, biking, and watching Hannah Montana. Christopher especially liked spending time with his family and good friends camping at Games Lake. The water slide was his favorite attraction. Christopher enjoyed watching The Price is Right, Let’s Make a Deal, Ellen, Wheel of Fortune, and Funniest Home Videos.

Since December, Christopher has been struggling with complications from knee surgery. He went through many procedures to try and fix the problem, but there was no easy fix. He passed away peacefully with his mom and dad by his side. Christopher was a tough, loving boy who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Christopher is survived by his parents, sisters Stephanie, Richelle and Marin, paternal grandmother Dorothy Buermann of Paynesville, step-maternal grandfather Art Fleischhhacker of Oakdale, MN, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Preceding Christopher in death were his grandfather’s Robert Buermann, Joseph L. Svihel and grandmother LuAnn Svihel-Fleischhacker, his uncle James Buermann and cousin Jacqueline Twining.
Christopher’s family would like to thank Dr. Richard Hart, Dr. Gary Snead and Nurse Tracy at the St. Cloud Medical Group. We will be forever grateful for the excellent care and guidance Christopher and our family received from his cardiologist Dr. Chip Martin and his nurse Paulii.
