Clarence P. Jarnot

December 9, 1933 – September 28, 2016

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Clarence P. Jarnot, 82, of St. Stephen will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in St. Stephen. Clarence passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at home. Reverend Eugene Doyle will officiate. Inurnment with military honors will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Arrangements are with Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
Clarence was born on December 9, 1933 in St. Wendel Township, Stearns County to Frank and Agnes (Beniek) Jarnot. He served in the US Army with the 8th Army Signal Corps. and was part of the cleanup in Korea. Clarence was honorably discharged in 1955 and married Rosella Anderson on April 10, 1956 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Cloud. He was employed at Franklin Manufacturing, farmed, drove bus in Holdingford for Trobec’s Bus Company, was a welder/supervisor for Polar Manufacturing and lastly worked in maintenance at DCI Inc. He retired in 1996. Clarence was a member of St. Stephen Parish and a former member of St. Stephen River Runners Snowmobile Club.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, snowmobiling, trips to Lake of the Woods, polka dancing, playing cards, woodworking and trips to the casino. Above all he treasured time with his family and his therapy hour at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoons.
Clarence is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosie; children, Laurie (Jeff) Schuneman of Sauk Rapids, Jeff (LoriAnn) of Rice, Judy (Terry) Bialka of Opole, Patty Stone (Steve Rosty) of Holdingford, Clarence “Butch” of Sartell, MaryKay (Scott) Schwinghammer of St. Stephen, 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and two on the way; and sisters, Emily (Art) Korman and Irma Nierenhausen both of St. Cloud.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Damis, Elmer and Allen.
