My deepest sympathy to Roma, Jerry, Joe, John and Sue in this difficult time. Don was a kind, gentle man with an infectious smile/grin, an all-around “good guy” with a great sense of humor. The times I have spent with this family are some of the BEST times of my life. Thank you for the memories Don and Roma and family. Please know Don will be missed but forever “remembered”.

My first ride in an airplane, as a little kid, was with uncle Don at the controls. Letting me steer the airplane made me feel like I was a very important person. Thank-you, uncle, for the memory that I have so dearly cherished.

Dear Roma and Family,
Our deepest sympathy to you all. Eddie cherishes the memories of camping, boating, and skiing that your families shared when he was young. In later years Eddie and I enjoyed wonderful visits at your home We were always greeted with warm hospitality, wonderful stories, and of course a marvelous homemade dessert!! The biggest impression that you gave us is that you were truly best friends and sweethearts through sickness and health.,,,,,,a great life lesson for us all, Uncle Don will truly be missed. Our love to uou

I only met Donald a couple of times when his son John, myself, and my brother would go up to Mn. to fish we would stop in for a visit and have dinner. Donald immediately struck me as a man who was tough as nails but possessed a kind soul as well. The stories told at the dinner table and after in the living room over a glass of wine will not be forgotten.

Over the years of hearing Don and Roma stories from their son John, I’ve always admired the life they lived. Living such a full life with so many experiences is a wonderful thing. My heart is sad for this loss and hope all can find peace and comfort in embracing Don’s spirit of living life. My thoughts and prayers are with the Steckling family and friends during this time.

There’s nothing as precious as father’s love for his daughter. I have been blessed with the best dad any girl could ask for. Not day has gone by without thinking about something he had said or has taught me. He was my super hero. I will miss him every day for the rest of my life.

My father in law was a great man who loved life and proved it by the way he lived it. I loved listening to the stories you told of your life & your funny jokes. I owe you a debt of gratitude for raising such a good man, my husband. I’m thankfuI and appreciate your kindness to me. I love you Dad. 💗

Don took me on my first airplane ride when I was a little girl. I will always remember when he would fly over with his plane and then land by my grandparents. My dad Jim worked for him for a long time, he always said one of best.

Nobody affected me like my dad. From my happiest childhood memories to the hardest day of my life when we lost him.

I am so blessed to have gotten to know Don and Roma so well over the years. Joe and I enjoyed many trips to visit you guys up north. It was because of Don that I learned how to shoot a gun…and shoot it well! I also loved watching Don and Joe spend time with each other. What a amazing and close relationship they had. You are missed so much Don! We love ya!

I’ll try to be as good as you daddy
