Donna Roisen

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Donna Roisen, age 91, of St. Cloud. Donna passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, surrounded by family. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Clara’s Parish Cemetery in Clara City, MN.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday and after 9 a.m. on Saturday, both at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Parish Prayers will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday at the church.

Donna was born August 21, 1926 in Maynard, MN to Albert and Evelyn (Lindgren) Rhode. After graduating from Montevideo High School, she moved to Minneapolis where she worked at Honeywell. She met and later married LeVerne “Red” Roisen on August 6, 1949. After the death of her father in 1957, they moved to North Dakota where they purchased the family owned Bar and Restaurant. In 1967, they moved to St. Cloud, MN where she worked for many years in the office at Metzroth’s Mens Clothing Store.

Donna was a charter member of the St. Cloud Eagles Club Auxiliary where she held many positions which eventually led to being elected to the esteemed position of State President from 1988-89. After Red’s passing in 1990, she became very involved in a local widows group where she learned to line-dance. They enjoyed performing at different venues around the area. Donna was also very active in many card groups, enjoying those games nearly everyday.

Donna is survived by her sons Rick of Nolensville, TN, John “Pat” (Dianne) of Forest City, IA and Michael of St. Cloud, MN, nine grandchildren: Erika, Kyle, Patrick, Allen, Shannon, Aaron, Nathan, Katie and Benjamin, and seven great grandchildren.

Preceding Donna in death were her parents, step parents Pat and Gyda Trottier, husband Red, and brothers Dean and Dale Rhode.
