Duane E. Hinkemeyer

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, MN for Duane Edward Hinkemeyer, age 75, of St. Cloud, MN, who died on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at his home. The Reverend Gerald Dalseth will officiate. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN with military rites conducted by Waite Park American Legion Silver Star Post #428.

Visitation will be on Saturday morning June 28, 2014 from 9:30 A.M to 10:30 A.M. at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Duane was born on May 3, 1939 at St. Augusta, MN, the son of Theodore and Catherine (Gohman) Hinkemeyer. He grew up in St. Augusta and graduated from Tech High School in St. Cloud. He enlisted into the United States Navy on June 18, 1957. He served his country as an electrician during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on May 23, 1961.

On May 26, 1962, Duane was married to Ginger Koch. They had four children and later divorced. He was employed for 31 years at DeZurick Corporation in Sartell, first as a machinist and later in quality control. He retired in 1993.

He was a member of Waite Park American Legion Silver Star Post #428.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter Kimberly and two brothers Erling and Alfred.

He is survived by children, Sue (Tim) Borresch of St, Joseph, MN, Jill (Brent) Rapaway of Sartell, MN and Rick (Valerie) of Rice, MN, 4 grandchildren, Daniel, Marissa, Trenton and Allison, his companion of 29 years, Marlys Martin of St. Cloud, three brothers, Merrill (Delores) Hinkemeyer of Cold Spring, MN Larry (Rosie) Hinkemeyer of Mount Prospect, IL, and Gerald (Sherri) Hinkemeyer of Sauk Rapids, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
