Edythe G. Portz

Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Edgewood Senior Living Chapel in Sartell for Edythe G. Portz, age 97 of Sartell and formerly of St. Louis Park who passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at her home at Edgewood, Sartell. Interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Edgewood in Sartell.
Edythe was born March 28, 1920 in Brookings, South Dakota to Harley and Gladys (Chase) Barton. She married Herbert Portz on June 30, 1945 in Minneapolis. Edythe was employed by the St. Louis Park School District as a cook and later as a Teacher’s Aid, retiring in 2005.
Edythe is survived by her children, Judy (Jerry) Huls of St. Joseph and Jerry (Nancy) of Maple Grove; three grandchildren, Jaclyn (Dave) Sarff of St. Joseph, Jerod of Sartell and Justin (Cassie) of Sartell; seven great grandchildren, Drake, Emily, Aubrey, Nathan, Landon, Grace and Grant; two sisters, Muriel Erickson of St. Louis Park and Sandra Barton of Minneapolis; and brother Dick Barton of Minneapolis.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, Glen, Frank and Harley, Jr.; and sister, Marge Glenn.
