Elizabeth L. "Betty" Host

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Elizabeth L. “Betty” Host, age 90, of St. Cloud who passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Sauk Rapids. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Burial will take place in Assumption Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Betty was born on July 28, 1927 in Lake Henry, Minnesota to Raymond and Louise (Fuchs) Winter. She married Leander Dingman on October 9, 1945 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud. He passed away in 1960. She married Edward Host on December 23, 1973. He passed away in 1977. Betty was employed by School District 742 and before that, 1st Ward Market. She was also a Caterer at the Eagles for 25 years. Betty was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, the Eagles Auxiliary Aerie #622, the Women of the Moose, the Knights of Columbus Council #5548 Auxiliary, St. Cloud V.F.W. Post #428 Auxiliary, the 600 Club, and was in the USBC Bowlers Hall of Fame in 2010.
She enjoyed bus trips to the casino and spending time with family and friends.
Betty is survived by her children, Sharon (Jim) Wanderscheid of Nemo, South Dakota, Barbara Driver of Sartell, Janice (John) Krippner of South Haven, Judy (Mark) Ohman of Sartell, Kevin Dingman of St. Cloud, Lisa Weismann of Waite Park and Scott (Karen) Dingman of St. Joseph; step- children, Doug (Barb) Host, JoAnn (David) Sufka and Marilyn (Loren) Miller all of St. Cloud; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 plus great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Ethel Fraase, Ruben (Kathleen) Winter, Rosie Gaida and Armella (Ray) Middendorf; sisters-in-law, Pat and Donna Winter and Dorothy Bailen; as well as extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son, David; great-grandson, Dakota; sister and brothers, Edna Weiner, Anthony Winter, LeRoy Winter and John Winter.
