Eugene H. "Hank" Fahrenholz

A time of sharing will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, MN for Eugene Henry Fahrenholz age 78 who died on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. also at Daniel Funeral Home. The Sauk Rapids V.F.W. Post 6992 will have their prayers to lead off the time of sharing at 7:00 P.M.

Hank was born on March 1, 1938, the son of Gustav and Catherine (Stadtherr) Fahrenholz in St. Cloud, MN. He grew up in St. Cloud, MN. He enlisted into the United States Marine’s on December 27, 1956. He was stationed in Hawaii during his tour of duty and was honorably discharged December 18, 1959. Upon his return to St. Cloud, he worked as a mechanic at Pickard Motors, and also at Dezurik’s in various jobs.

On April 3, 1971 he was united in marriage to Mary E. Patton at Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, MN. One son was born to this union. Hank worked most of his married life as a custodian for St. Cloud School District 742, retiring in 2001 after 30 plus years of service.

Hank enjoyed the world of auto racing and participated by actively working on many cars that raced at Golden Spike Speed Way for many years. He also helped his son with his race car. He enjoyed country western music (especially Hank Williams) and watching auto racing on T.V.

He was a life member of Sauk Rapids V.F.W. Post 6992.

In addition to his parents and his wife Mary, Hank was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Harold, and Donald, and two sisters Lucille Jensen and Gloria Fahrenholz.

Hank is survived by his son Sherwin (Sheila Corona) Fahrenholz of St. Cloud, MN, one grand-daughter Charlize and one grandson Sherwin, Jr. both at home, his three sisters, Lorraine Engebretson of Minneapolis, MN Marguerite (Hutsy) Schlichting (Dennis) and Kathleen Bieniek (Marcel) both of Sauk Rapids, MN, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
