Evelyn R. Brixius

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, September 12, 2016 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Evelyn R. Brixius, age 89, of St. Cloud, who passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at her sister’s home. Reverend Douglas Liebsch will officiate. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call after 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Evelyn was born in St. Cloud on June 26, 1927 to Albert and Mary Kay (Theisen) Brixius. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1946. Evelyn received a degree in bookkeeping from St. Cloud Business College and later and a degree in Accounting from St. Cloud State. She worked at The Holes-Webway Co. for many years and later at Merrill May Corporation. Evelyn volunteered at the Veterans Administration, American Red Cross, and the St. Cloud Public Library.

She loved reading (especially history books) and playing various card games and board games (Scrabble being her favorite) with family and friends.

Evelyn is survived by her brother, Frank Brixius; sisters, Marie Esplan and Imelda Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Albert and Oswald; and sisters, Rita Brixius and Sylvia Vann.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
