Floyd E. Traut

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 18, 2016 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell for Floyd E. Traut, age 80, of Sartell who passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the St. Cloud V. A. Health Care System. Reverend Timothy Baltes will officiate. Burial will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls at a later date.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 11:00 a.m. on Friday all at the gathering space at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell. Parish prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the gathering space at St. Francis Xavier.

Floyd was born on June 1, 1936 in St. Cloud to Edward and Mary (Pierskalla) Traut. He married Margaret Freihammer on August 21, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids. Floyd owned and operated his farm as well as Traut Brothers Trucking with his brother Firman. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Floyd enjoyed restoring tractors, attending vintage tractor shows and fishing. He especially loved all the time spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife Margaret of 59 years; children, Diane (Robert) Stommes of St. Cloud, DuWayne (Diane) Traut of Merrifield, Brenda Lee (Al) Schmitt of Royalton, Edward of Clear Lake, Gerold (Ruthanne) Traut of Breezy Point, James (Amy) Traut of Foley; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Donna; and many nieces and nephews.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Mary; infant twin, Lloyd; sister, Evelyn Traut; brothers, Firman Edwin, Edger, and Cyril.
