Helen went to Hall Mercantile in Foley where she was a salesperson. She then moved to Elwood, Illinois with two of her sisters where they all worked for Elwood Ordinance in the ammunition factory, supporting the war effort. They lived in St. Cloud until 1974 where they belonged to St. Anthony’s Parish. She was a loving wife and mother to eight. Helen was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish, a former member of St. Anthony’s Parish and Christian Women where she was a treasurer and school volunteer. Helen enjoyed bowling in her early years. She also enjoyed walking, gardening, feeding the hummingbirds and all the animals, playing cards with her sisters and taking pictures. One of her greatest feats was learning to swim as an adult. Helen was a huge Twins and Vikings fan who never missed watching a game. Above all, Helen treasured spending time with her family.

My sympathy on the loss of the matriarch of your family. Prayers for all of you as your family enters this transition. We are in Florida and unable to attend.

Very sorry for your loss. May God bless your family in this difficult time.

Deepest empathizes on the passing of aunt Helen. Unfortunately we will not be able to attend the wake or memorial service. We will keep you in our prayers for strength and guidance during this time. Godspeed Helen.

Even though I never had the opportunity to meet Helen I have had the pleasure to work along side with her son Joe W. I see how the apple does not fall far from the tree. Prayers for the Waverek family and God Bless you all. “Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge”

Dear Waverek Family, the loss of a mother is always hard – especially those mothers of large families, they seem extra special! Will keep the Waverek family in our prayers as you mourn the loss and celebrate the life she shared with you all. Helen and Al are looking down from heaven and smiling on their wonderful family. God Bless!

Dear Waverek Family,

Very sorry for your loss.
It’s now apparent where son Joe acquired his sales skills. It’s apparent Helen was a devoted wife, mother and patriot! God speed Helen as you reunite with Al and our Heavenly Father.

I would like to express my condolences. The bible provides encouragement for all who struggle with this sad fact of life. In the book of Isaiah 25:8 it reads: “He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces.” God promises to end death and mourning. This scripture has provided me with hope and encouragement. I hope it helps you at this difficult time.
