A gathering of family and friends celebrating the life of Jerome J. “Jerry” Larson, age 80 of Waite Park will be Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud. Jerry passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Interment will be private at a later date.

Jerry was born February 6, 1934 in Fulda, Minnesota to Loyd and Clara (Boyer) Larson. He married Pat J. Gross on September 25, 1954 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, St. Cloud. Jerry and Pat started in business with the Crown Liquor Store and Bar in 1968. He later owned and operated the Ace Bar and Café from 1973 until his retirement in 2001.

Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, he liked to hunt and fish. He especially enjoyed training and competing in retriever field trials with his Black Labradors. Jerry loved to spend time with his family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Pat; children, David (Donna) of Maple Grove, Sandy (Charlie) Bechtold of Sun City, Arizona, Karen (Craig) Stradtman of Annandale, Mike (Jackie) of Sauk Rapids, Tammy Roden of St. Cloud; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Judy Laughton of St. Cloud, Kathy Meyer of Gold Canyon, Arizona, Tom of Coon Rapids, Bill of Cannon Falls, Ed of Morris, Arlene Morris of St. Cloud, Marilyn Spoden of Cold Spring and Roger of Coon Rapids.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Kevin Roden; sister and brothers, Annette Nawara, Jim and Richard.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

So sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. He and Dad (Max) go back decades and we all have many fond memories of Jerry and family together. We will miss him!
