Joanne was a very happy person and always had kind words for all she knew. I remember meeting and going over to Joanne’s with our Aunt Franny who was close also may Joanne rest in peace remember the good times for then she will always be remembered

March 31, 1934 – April 12, 2015
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Daniel Funeral Home Chapel in St. Cloud for Joanne M. Rudy, age 81 of St. Cloud who passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Reverend Gregory Lieser will officiate. Private interment will take place at a later date.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.
Joanne Rudy was born in St. Cloud to Norbert and Lucille (Canfield) Zenner. She married Lowell Rudy in Pierz and lived in Fresno, CA from 1964-1970. Retiring from the State of MN Dept. of Jobs and Training in 1996 she moved to Espanola, New Mexico. She moved back to St. Cloud in July 1997.
She served on the board of directors for Tri-Cap and Catholic Charities, as well as on the W.I.N.G.S and Summit Advisory Committees and was active with a group who brought the first health maintenance organization to St. Cloud. She was an active member of Eagles #622 Auxiliary since 1989 and served as Madam President in 1991-92. She was also a member of PFLAG, (Parents, Family & Friends of Lesbian and Gays). She was an avid piano player, loved reading, music and her grandchildren.
Survivors include children, Robert (Tami) Rudy of Avon, Robin (Joe) Wedding of St. Cloud, Chad (Steve) Rudy of Linville, NC, Ron (Vianne) Berg of Forest Lake; stepchildren, William (Albert) Rudy of Houston, TX, Jerry (Mary Jane) Rudy of St. Joseph, Patricia (Norbert) Friedman of Sauk Rapids, nine grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Kosel, Gail Schulz, Dianne Johnstone and Cheryl Kalis; a very dear friend, Bonnie Rhode.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tracy Rudy; stepson, Jim Rudy; brothers, Richard, Junie and Ronald Zenner; and ex-husband, Lowell.
Joanne’s family would like to thank the staff of the Assumption Home in Cold Spring for their loving care and compassion.

Joanne was one of my favorite cousins and I spent a lot of time with her. She was such a fun person and we were able to talk about anything together. I loved her and will miss her.
