Dear Aunt Lucile and family, I am so sorry about losing Uncle Jack. He was a gem! I loved being around him and and all of your wonderful family. Hugs to all, sorry I cannot make it to the funeral. My husband is in the last week of radiation treatment and having a bit of a rough go of it, so I need to stay close. Love you all, may God hold you in his arms as you grieve.

Dear Mrs. Kalkman and Family,
I am so sad to hear that Jack passed away! He will be greatly missed!
Our childhood neighborhood was so extraordinary–yet I thought it was the norm. We were blessed with “extra parents’, wonderful adults who showed us how to live a good, fruitful life.
We were lucky to live across the street from you! I am sending hugs to all. I wish I could be there but i am facilitating the first of a six week study on the Eucharist that starts at noon on Monday.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
