Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Julie Ann Gretsch, 74, of Cold Spring will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring. Julie Ann passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, July 13, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Matthew Luft, OSB will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring. Arrangements are with Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.Julie Ann was born on March 29, 1941 in Ventura, California to the late Gayle and Muriel (Millar) LaFond. At the age of two the family moved to Argyle and Julie Ann graduated from Argyle High School in 1958. She then obtained her cosmetology degree in Thief River Falls. She moved to St. Cloud in 1961 and began her career as a beautician. She married Thomas J. Gretsch on April 30, 1966 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. She lived all of her life in the Cold Spring area. She was a member of and Eucharistic Minister for St. Boniface Parish, member of the Red Hat Society and of the Bridge Club.Julie Ann lived life to the fullest enjoying many activities including: boating, golfing, playing cards, shopping, traveling and any new adventure that came along. Above all she treasured spending time with her family and loved ones. Julie Ann will be remembered for her generous nature and as a “Master of Life”.She is survived by her daughter, Denna (Tom) Saidnawey of Lincoln, MA; grandchildren, Amanda, Laynie, Greg and Dana Saidnawey; loving companion, Ted Andresen of Cold Spring; brother and sisters, Jim LaFond of Cold Spring, Jane (Doug) Johnson of White Bear Lake; Joni Smoley (John Huard) of St. Cloud; step-father, Bob Eisler of Cold Spring; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom in 1997; daughter, Jackie in 2008; and parents.Memorials are preferred and a fund will be started in Julie’s name.
