Leon G. Hoffman

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, April 17, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph, MN for Leon George Hoffman age 75 of St. Joseph, who died on Monday, April 13, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital. The Reverend Jerome Tupa, O.S.B. will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Parish Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. on Friday morning also at Daniel Funeral Home. St. Joseph’s Parish Prayers will be at 6:00 P.M. at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph.

Leon was born on February 7, 1940 in St. Cloud, MN, the son of Alphonse and Leona (Warnert) Hoffmann. He grew up and attended school in St. Joseph and later he graduated in 1958 from Tech High School in St. Cloud. He was united in marriage to June Baggenstoss on June 14, 1969 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph. Two children were born to this union.

Leon was a truck driver and worked for over 37 years at Scherer Trucking in St. Joseph, MN retiring in 2010. He enjoyed fishing and camping with family.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph, Eagles Aerie #622 of St. Cloud, and was a lifetime member of the St. Joseph Rod and Gun Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Dale Hoffmann, one sister Mary Hoffmann, and two nephews, Daniel Douvier and Joseph Hoffmann.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, June of St. Joseph, one daughter, Jenny (Warren) Luepke of St. Cloud, and one son, Rick (Senta) Hoffman of Alexandria, MN, four grandchildren; Will, Sam and Nathan Luepke and Riley Hoffman, one sister, Rita (Dave) Douvier of St. Joseph, MN and one sister-in-law Irma Hoffmann of St. Joseph, MN, other relatives and many friends
