Used to love watching the ball games in Palmer when I was a kid Leroy and Roger were my heroes. Louie passed in 2014 also.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for LeRoy R. Kruchten, age 81, of St. Cloud. LeRoy passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community in St. Cloud. Reverend Aaron Nett will officiate. Entombment will take place at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud with Military Honors.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday all at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday at the Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
LeRoy was born on February 8, 1933 in Rockville, Minnesota to Peter and Marcella (Becker) Kruchten. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. LeRoy married Helen Tischner on May 19, 1956 at St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake. He drilled wells for 12 years prior to working as a welder for DeZurik for 29 years. LeRoy was a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Eastside V.F.W. Post #4847.
LeRoy played amateur baseball until age 43, enjoyed fishing, trap shooting, hunting, playing cards, bowling and trips to the casino. He especially treasured all the time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Helen of St. Cloud; children, Gary (Lonna) of Faribault, Judy (Bob) Varshal of Woodbury and Pat (Fiancé, Brian Finch) Hall of Mankato; grandchildren, Neil Kruchten, Jake Varshal, Andrea Kaiser, Kelly Kruchten, Jenny Kasch, Dan Hall, Brittany Shada and Sarah Davies; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Lorraine (Sev) Haus of St. Cloud, Marvin (Sandy) of Becker, Virgil (Carol) of St. Cloud; and many nieces and nephews.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian in 2007; infant brother, Peter; brothers, Roger and Elmer; and sister, Ethel Leither.
A Special Thank You to the Staff of the Second Floor at St. Benedict’s Senior Community and also the Staff at the St. Cloud Hospital Fifth Floor South for the care and attention given to LeRoy and his family during his stay.
