Lowell was born March 6, 1931 to Vernen & Gladys Higgins in Noonan, ND. The Dr. told his parents that because of the dust bowl he would die if they didn’t move. They moved to Amore. He grew up in Amore, Battle Lake and Minneapolis. He served in the Air Force. He had thought about making a career in the Air Force until he was transferred to Tooley AF Base in Greenland. Lowell enjoyed being active and spending time with his family. He taught his 4 children, family and friends to water ski. He enjoyed fishing, boating, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, biking, deer hunting, golf (and was proud of his hole-in-one), traveling the United States in the fifth wheel, hiking in the desert, and spending the winter in Apache Junction, AZ. He was a member of the American Legion.

Words cannot adequately express our sorrow in the loss of Lowell. Someone so special can never be forgotten. May you find comfort in happy memories and in the words from our heavenly father Jehovah found at Isaiah 25:8; “He (God) will swallow up death forever. And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe the tears from all faces“ and Rev 21:4  “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends.
