Luella V. "Lue" Jacobs

May 13, 1934 – December 23, 2018

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church for Luella V. “Lue” Jacobs, age 84, of St. Cloud, who passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House after an eight month battle with cancer. Reverend Timothy Gapinski will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the Church. Parish prayers will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Luella Verna Jacobs was born on May 13, 1934 to Alphonse and Mary (Ruescher) Sudtelgte in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She grew up in Clear Lake and graduated from Clear Lake High School. After graduation, she attended St. Cloud State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in teaching. She taught in many places across Minnesota and in Tucson, AZ. She eventually retired from the St. Cloud School District #742 in 1995 after 40 years of being an educator. Lue was united in marriage to Robert F. Jacobs on July 25, 1970 at St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, a charter member of the St. Cloud Eagles Aerie #622 Auxiliary, and a life time member of REAM (Retired Educators Assoc. of MN). Lue enjoyed giving of her time and talents by volunteering for District #742, Meals on Wheels, and at Church. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, playing cards, watching birds, and watching the Minnesota Wild and SCSU Men’s Husky Hockey. Lue was a loving, caring and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Lue is survived and will be missed by her son, Paul (Amber), of Cold Spring; grandchildren, Cameron, Emmerson, Lillyan and Lukas; sister, Marge Dingels, of Redwood Falls; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert, on April 11, 2012; siblings and their spouses, Robert Sudtelgte, Carl (Emma Lee) Sudtelgte and Evelyn (Elmer) Grayckowski; and brother-in-law, Vince Dingels.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Doctors and Staff at the Coborn Cancer Center, the St. Cloud Hospital, and Quiet Oaks Hospice House, for their loving and compassionate care of Lue.

Paul, I am so sorry to hear about your mother. She was always so sweet and nice to me when I was growing up and she always had that special smile.
