Magdalen F. Mehr

Funeral services will be at 12:30 P.M. on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud, MN for Magdalen Frances Mehr, age 93 of St. Cloud, who died on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Community in Sauk Rapids, MN. The Reverend Timothy Baltes will be the celebrant. Interment will take place at Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be on Monday, August 25, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and on Tuesday from 11:30 A.M to 12:30 P.M. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. St. Paul’s Parish Prayers will be at 6:00 P.M. on Monday at Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Magdalen was born on May 21, 1921, in Richmond, MN the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Mandernach) Middendorf. She married Leo M. Mehr on October 22, 1941 in Richmond. Seven children were born to this union. They lived on a farm in the St. Martin area until 1953 when they moved to St. Cloud. She worked at Eddie’s Drive Inn, Fingerhut, and Lakeland Bakery, prior to working in food service at the St. Cloud V.A. Medical Center for 20 years, retiring in 1986.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Christian Women, she volunteered at Sacred Heart Elementary School in Sauk Rapids and was a member of the Catholic Aid Association.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; her husband Leo in 1984, daughter-in-law Marie (Blasius) Mehr in 2011, three sisters, Erma Willing, Hildegard Niewind, and Mary Ann Mackendanz, and seven brothers, Alex, Richard, Othmar, Benedict, Norbert, James and Joseph Middendorf.

She is survived by; her seven children, Kathleen (Don) Mehr-Jensen of Duluth, MN, DuWayne (Barb) Mehr of St. Augusta, MN, Ronald (Georgia) Mehr of Eau Claire, WI, Sandra (Jeffrey) White of St. Cloud, MN, Gerald Mehr of St. Cloud, MN, Brian (Wanda) Mehr of Spicer, MN and Gwendolyn (Robert) Sufka of Sauk Rapids, MN, 15 Grandchildren, and 20 Great Grandchildren, one brother Raymond (Armella) Middendorf of Sartell, MN, and one sister-in-law Alice Middendorf of St. Cloud, other relatives and many friends.
