Tom, very sorry to hear of your loss. Like many we do not take the Times and the obits in the Star Trib. are voluminous. Today at coffee I ran into Ron Hinkemeyer and he mentioned Marlene. Ron also was not aware. His wife googled the obits and found the item. Again very sorry to read this information.

Michele, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I have many fond memories of your mom from all the time I spent at your house when we were in HS.

Dear Abel family,
Thinking of you at this difficult time.

Dear Tom, we are so sorry, we send our condolences and prayers to you and your family. Marlene was a very special lady. We had such fun, she was always smiling.

Tom and family,
John and I wish to extend our deepest condolences and sadly regret we cannot be there for Marlene’s Memorial but our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Marlene has been one of my closest and dearest friends ever since high school but for many years due to long distances and family responsibilities, we lost contact. However about seven years ago we rekindled our friendship and we found that even after many years we still had so very much in common. Marlene was a very Special woman and a true friend. I’ll always cherish the friendship we had. She is gone but will never be forgotten. My memories of her are filled with smiles of the good times we shared. Through these last five years, you Tom and Marlene have shown tremendous courage as she battled her illness valiantly and with dignity. Tom take comfort in knowing what a great partner you were for her in how you cared for her for so long and so lovingly. She gave me a plaque for my birthday one time which reads: Together we laugh..dream..care..best of all friends and family forever.
I believe this quote from James Joyce pretty much sums up how Marlene might have felt too. “They lived and laughed and loved and left.”

Our sympathy to you Tom and family. Marlene was such a dear friend. She will truly be missed.Loved her to the moon and back.

Tom and family,
So very sad to hear of Marlene’s passing. We so enjoyed our time with you both as neighbors , Praying for you all.

Our condolences for your loss. May you find comfort in memories of the life you shared and in love of family & friends.

Tom and Family, I am so sorry to read of Marlene’s passing. My prayers are with you. Norma

Michelle and family,
Our thoughts and prayers surround you now and for the days to come. We often thought of your Mom as we drove by Santa Fe Drive.

Donna and I send our condolences and love to the entire family.

Marlene will be missed by many! She had such a live, caring spirit. Her light will continue to shine. My thoughts are with all of you🙏🏼

I value your friendship and your kind smile does not reflect the load you bear.
You are blessed by the Lord and Marlene has been blessed by you. Rita

Tom, I am so sorry to hear that your dear wife has died. Didn’t know her, but this picture of her shows a woman of spirit and delight. Am sorry she had to spend time with the beast of cancer and hope that you will find the comfort that she rests in peace now. Prayers are with my “old” friend. Sandy
