Marlys, know you were so loved. My life has been so enriched by knowing you. .. we named our first daughter Stacy Ann to honor the impact you had made in my life. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2015 at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson, MN for Marlys A. “Marlie” Bishman, age 63, of St. Augusta, MN who passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015 at St. Benedicts Senior Community in St. Cloud, MN after a battle with cancer. Reverend Gerald Meidl will officiate. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the church in Hutchinson. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Marlys was born in Hutchinson, MN on May 13, 1952 to Lyle and Angeline (Bottema) Bishman. She was baptized, confirmed and received her grade school education at St. Anastasia’s Church and School. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1970. She received her Medical Technician training from Alexandria Technical College and an Associate Arts degree from MSU, Mankato. She did lab work in Litchfield, Wadena, Moose Lake, and St. Cloud.
She enjoyed traveling and had especially memorable trips to the Canadian Rockies and Sedona, AZ. She will be remembered for her many letters of cheer, generosity and kindness.
Marlys is survived by siblings, Betty Bishman, Evelyn Bishman, Allen (Kate) Bishman, Mark (JoAnn) Bishman, Myron (Jeanette) Bishman, and Ed Bishman; sister in law, Judy Bishman; nieces and nephews, Tanya Gertz, Andrea Egbert, Josh Bishman, Melissa Peterman, Mike Bishman, Matt Bishman, Michelle Duering, and Chris Schenhiet; neighbors, the Francis and Nancy Kettner family.
She was preceded in death by her life partner, Len Kenning; infant brother, P. Francis Bishman; brother, Paul D. Bishman; parents; and grandparents.

The Bishman family continues to be in our prayers. We believe and Angie believed that today Marlys is in a better place. When our day comes, Angie, Marlys and all of our loved ones will be there to welcome us. But now as we grieve, reflect on our wonderful memories we have of all of our loved one.
