Mary Ann Sauer

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Mary Ann Sauer, age 87, of St. Cloud, who passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community in St. Cloud. Reverend John Sauer and Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Burial will take place in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday and after 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday all at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday at the Church. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Mary Ann was born on December 22, 1926 in Clearwater, Minnesota to John and Clara (Imholte) Kloeppner. She married Donald Sauer on August 17, 1948, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph. Throughout her life Mary Ann worked at the St. Cloud Times, Northwestern Supply, Holy Spirit School, and Kerber Gempler and Dale. She volunteered at Home Health Care, Holy Spirit, and Catholic Charities. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, St. Marcellus and St. Gerard Mission Groups, and the Serra Club.

Mary Ann enjoyed playing cards, scrapbooking, entertaining, and traveling. Her greatest love was all the time spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband; children, Reverend John of Owatonna, Stephen (Michelle) of St. Cloud and Lori (Tory Stahl) of Inver Grove Heights; grandchildren, Michael of Los Angeles, Katherine (Michael Johnson) of Sauk Rapids.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Linda in 1976.
