Maryann Veronica Kuhn

Maryann Veronica Kuhn, age 72, longtime resident of Waite Park, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2015 with her son and daughter-in-law by her bedside. Maryann was born on June 18, 1943 to John and Marie Rushmeyer in Farming Township. She was initially raised on the family farm in Avon and later, when the family moved, on the family farm in Fort Ripley. She graduated from Brainerd High School. She then moved to San Jose to live with her brother and sister-in-law, John (“Jack”) and Ruth Rushmeyer, Jr., and worked for Jack in the grocery business. Later, she returned to St. Cloud, Minnesota permanently when she married the love of her life, John L. Kuhn. Together, they raised their only child, Clarence (“C.J.”) and operated a modest real estate business. She was active, working from home, raising their son, enjoying summers at the cabin, gardening, and for years volunteering at Holy Spirit’s Elementary School. Her great passion in life was watching and playing with her beloved grandchildren, Hannah and Jack.
Maryann was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents, John and Marie; and her sister, Donna.
Maryann is survived by her son, Clarence (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Hannah and Jack; her brothers Jack (Ruth) Rushmeyer and Jim (Nancy) Rushmeyer; and sisters, Alice Plumski, Evelyn Lutzke, Debbie (Randy) Smude, Karen (Tim) Anderson and Susie (J.R.) Hale.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Peter Geisendorfer-Lindgren officiating. Private burial will occur at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Assumption Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are: Tom Lutzke, Mike Rushmeyer, Ed Kuhn, Carl Rushmeyer, Leo Plumski, Jr. and Kevin Quinn.
