Melvin N. Lardy

March 4, 1938 – October 26, 2016

Memorial services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud for Melvin Nicholas Lardy, 78 of St. Cloud who died on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital. The Reverend Harvey Ehlers, Retired Senior Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Paynesville Cemetery, Paynesville, MN. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday morning from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. all at Daniel Funeral Home.

 

Melvin was born on March 4, 1938 in Cold Spring, MN the son of Raymond A. and Veronica L. (Binsfeld) Lardy. He attended country school near the family farm where he grew to adulthood. He then took over the family farm where he farmed until his partial retirement in 1998, when he resumed raising chickens for Gold’n Plump to the time of his death. The chickens and his family were his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister and one brother.

Melvin is survived by; his wife Phyllis of St. Cloud, 18 children, 24 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, two step sisters, Dianne Erkens and Mary Jost, other relatives and many friends.
