Michael W. Pelkey

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville for Michael W. Pelkey, age 69 of Paynesville who passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Reverend Ric Koehn will officiate. Burial will take place at the Paynesville Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday and after 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville. Arrangements are being made by the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville.

Mike was born on October 15, 1944 in Paynesville, Minnesota to Elmo and Elsie (Shreffler) Pelkey. He married Janet L. Mayer on June 25, 1965 at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville. Mike was employed as a diesel mechanic by Younkin Transport in Paynesville, Loxtercamp Trucking in Melrose and Maney International in St. Cloud. He later owned and operated Regal Refrigeration, Heating and Air Conditioning until his retirement in 2008. After his retirement Mike worked at the Koronis Hills Golf Course. Mike was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting, working, camping, four wheeling, horses and Country Music. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Jeffrey of Paynesville, Greg (Angie) of Pine River, Dave of Watkins, Kim (Cory) Bukowski of Grove City; seven grandchildren, Kayla, Austin, Stephanie, Sam, Dalton, Nikki and Eli; two great granddaughters, LillyAnn and Claire; and five sisters, Patricia Carlson of Pennock, Carol Ditmarson of New London, Barbara Jones of Hawick, Becky Schmitz of Hawick and Roxanne Oeltjenbruns of Belgrade.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
