Normande R. "Norma" Langlais

May 31, 1927 – May 18, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rockville for Normande R. “Norma” Langlais, 87, of Rockville who passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, May 18, 2015 at Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Burial with full military honors will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the church. A Prayer Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. followed by the French Canadian Society of St. Cloud at 5:00 p.m. and the Christian Women and Neighborhood Rosary Group at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Norma was born on May 31, 1927 in Madawaska, Maine to Jerome and Regina (Theriault) Albert. After high school she attended and graduated from the St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Lewiston, Maine. She worked at several area hospitals prior to joining the US Army Nurse Corps. in 1954. She was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain in 1960. While serving she met her future husband who was also serving in the US Army, John B. Langlais. They married on April 12, 1958 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. She was a career Army wife until John’s retirement in 1971. They moved to the St. Cloud area in 1974. She was employed at Inez Naturway Foods in St. Cloud for 15 years. She was a member of Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish and Christian Women, the French Canadian Society of St. Cloud and MCCL.
Norma was very devoted to the Blessed Mother and she spent countless hours making rosaries and chaplets that were sent all over the world. She enjoyed sewing for her children and grandchildren, reading and playing piano.
Norma is survived by her husband of 57 years, John of Rockville; children, Helen (Paul) Walz of Rockville, Tom (Joanne) of Epsom, New Hampshire, David (Denise) of Becker; 13 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and brothers, Joel Albert of Madawaska, Maine, Edwin Albert of Aurora, Illinois and Gerald (Simone) Albert of Clovis, New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rita Gwyer; and brother, Valier Albert.
Mass offerings are preferred.

She was a very nice person. I didn’t really know her well before she had a stroke. Now my Grandpa passed. Hopefully they are happy together once again. She was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She would send us cookies every Christmas. I never really liked the gingerbread men. She was a very good baker and cooker. She was amazing.
