Patrick Joseph McGuire

July 21, 1936 – December 9, 2016

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Patrick Joseph McGuire, age 80, of St. Cloud. Patrick went to be with the Lord peacefully on December 9, 2016 at Talahi Care Center in St. Cloud. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in St. Cloud at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Patrick was born July 21, 1936 in St. Cloud to Harry and Rose (Gnifkowski) McGuire.
As a favorite uncle, Pat’s kind and gentle nature was often too beautiful for this world. As a fierce and devoted believer, Pat’s devotion to the Catholic faith allowed him to overcome all of life’s obstacles.
A lifelong resident of St Cloud, Pat and twin sister Patsy worked at their father’s drug store located in east St. Cloud. Later in life, Pat worked 17 years as a devoted volunteer at the St Cloud Veterans Hospital where he truly loved the people he served. Pat’s dedicated service was formally recognized by President Bush.

Pat will be greatly missed but forever in our hearts. Please pray for his full restoration and reunification with his heavenly family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Disabled American Veterans or the Eagles Healing Nest in Sauk Centre.

Patrick is survived by his brother Robert (Jean) McGuire and sisters Patricia (Richard) Ruff and Mary Sullivan as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Patrick in death were his parents, brothers James McGuire and Fr. Richard McGuire, brother-in-law Lawrence Sullivan and sister-in-law Maureen McGuire.
