Bob always had a smile and a joke to tell. He and my Dad, Ed Henry, were best bro’s. I loved listening to them to tell stories. I am grateful to have known him over so many years. Best to my cousins – Bob, Mary, Joe and Tim and their families.

My sympathies to all of the Henry children. I remember you very well at the Mount College as a student and as a parishoner at St. Benedict’s Church. He was a very memorable Catholic gentleman. May he rest in peace.

Thinking of you and your family. What a delightful smile your father had. May your many precious memories keep him close to your heart.

Bob Henry was a genuine Man for All Seasons. As my major field professor, he fostered in me, and I think all his students, not only the importance of government in all our lives, but how that government could create better lives for all. He created in his students a special desire to properly evaluate every issue; to avoid conclusions until they were thoroughly evaluated from every aspect, including any personal bias. Bob Henry had an enormous influence on so many lives, and he lives on in all of our abilities to learn and understand.

So sorry to hear of your father-in-law’s passing. I wish your family peace and hope you have a blessed tribute to him.

Joe – So sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. I remember how kind he and your mother were to me when I was at Maur Hill some 40 years ago. As I watched the slideshow I saw over and over the smile that I still remember. May you be comforted by the many memories of good times with the family.

Bob and Kathleen were leader couple for a group of Benedictine College students preparing for marriage in spring of 1976. We have fond memories of Sunday evenings spent at their home discussing married life. We recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and will always treasure the time spent with them.

Our thoughts & prayers are with all of the family. With our deepest sympathy. Howard & Donna Gantz

Tim and Shanna, thinking of you at this time. It’s clear from the other posts that Robert Henry made a positive difference in the lives of many. Prayers.

Larry and I want all of Bob’s family to know how much we enjoyed and loved your father/grandfather. He was an inspiration always with his smile, kindness, gladness of heart and compassion for all. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. We will be thinking of you all this week and always.

Bob Henry was a kind, thoughtful gentleman and an excellent teacher. I remember election night ’76 when we celebrated his election to the legislature at his home. Great joy. Great memories. my condolences to the Henry family.

Dean Henry was the finest teacher I ever had and the fairest. He knew and loved his subject matter welll and gave me a true love and respect for our constitution. A.delightful man to talk with, I always enjoyed meeting him for even.a brief interlude. May he Rest In Peace and be remembered in my prayers.

My sincere condolences to the family. I met him several times here in Ks.. He always had a sweet smile and a twinkle in his eyes. HE will be missed.

He is at peace and will be missed.

Bob Henry was a traditional liberal who had the wisdom and experience to make sense of the most complex political and government issues.

For those who are unaware, a Robert C. Henry Scholarship Fund was established by a group of former students at Benedictine College a few months ago in appreciation for his many years valued service. If you are planning on memorializing Mr. Henry in some way, a contribution to his Scholarship would certainly qualify as an appropriate recipient.

Mr. Henry was an inspiration that guided my personal and professional life to this day. We need more like him.

Great memories of he and his wife Kathy in Atchison.

No one represented the commitment to Catholic higher education, ethical leadership, and family than Professor Henry. I will alwYs remember the Sunday night dinners he and his wife hosted for “his” Poly Sci majors. He taught us how to think not what to think. Job well done Bob. Godspeed.

Mr. Henry was one of my advisors at Benedictine. His Constitutional Law class was one of my favorite courses. Sending my condolences and prayers to his family.

Joe-
I am so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. I remember how kind and thoughtful both of your parents were. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

During the time of the colleges merger SBC and MSSC – Dean Henry was a voice of wisdom, a gentlemen’s gentleman, thoughtful, kind and an inspiration to so many of us fortunate enough to have known him.

I learned so much from Mr. Henry in his Constitutional Law I and II classes. What a brilliant man! I will always remember his kindness my junior year when a friend and former BC student died. She died the day of my finals and I was quite distraught when I went to class. Mr. Henry suggested I take the final another day when I would be more composed.

He was my major professor at the Mount in ’61. An excellent teacher and always a gentleman. RIP Mr. Henry

Mr. Henry had a huge influence on me, my career as a lawyer, and was one of the best teachers I ever had.

I was a student at St Benedict’s when Mr Henry was a teacher. He was very well thought of.

Mr. Robert Henry was a wonderful Catholic gentleman and fabulous professor of political science. Over 45 years later I still have notes from
his lectures. May he rest in peace.

One of the best teachers I ever encountered

I am a 64 graduate of St. Benedict’s college.I think that that was one of the first years that Bob came over to the men’s campus to teach constitutional law.Bob’s constitutional law course was great background for any heading to law school.I am sure that this is true for any one who took the course in the ensuing years. His passing is sad news.
