Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the services all at the St. Mary Help of Christians Parish Center in St. Augusta. Parish Prayers will be at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday.
Roman was born on July 22, 1935 at St. Cloud, MN, the son of Clemens and Frances (Imholte) Landwehr. He grew up on the family farm near St. Augusta and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1953. After school Roman modernized and expanded the dairy and beef operation on the family farm. In 1960 he served in the Minnesota National Guard for six months.
On February 14, 1968 he was united in marriage to Angie Libbesmeier. They raised a family of four children along with a nephew on their family farm near St. Augusta. Roman had a lifelong love of farming and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Roman was a devoted member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in St. Augusta. He valued volunteering his time and talents at church and for many other organizations, which included: Nocturnal Adoration Society, St. Augusta Lions Club, St. Augusta American Legion Post #621, Stearns County Farm Bureau, and Catholic United Financial.
His hobbies included: fishing, hunting, playing cards, and farming for fun!
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Clara Jude, Bruno Landwehr, Harold Landwehr, Clifford Landwehr, Delphine Undersander, and infant Eldred Landwehr.
He is survived by his wife Angie of St. Cloud, his children, Joe (Lisa) Landwehr, Cyndi (Scott) Walls, Aaron (Heidi) Landwehr, and Melanie (Ed) Krippner, all of St. Cloud, and nephew Mark (Deb) Landwehr of Andover, MN, seven grandchildren, Alex, Cody, Emily, Seth, Maya, Kira, and Chloe, brother and sisters, Marcella Murray of Springfield, IL, Rainer Landwehr of Cold Spring, MN, Vivian Backes of Richmond, MN, Mildred Hara of Cold Spring, Janet (Erv) Walz of Cold Spring, and in-laws John Undersander of Waite Park, MN and Viola Plante of Texas, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Deacon Ken Rosha and his wife Michelle, and Heartland Hospice, especially Tricia Anderson.
Memorials are preferred to St. Mary Help of Christians Elementary School in St. Augusta.
