September 21, 1938 – October 1, 2017

Funeral Services will be at 12 Noon on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, MN, for Ruth Elaine Brooks, age 79 of St. Cloud, MN who died on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Country Manor Health Care in Sauk Rapids, MN. Reverend Greg Lieser will officiate. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Friday at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Ruth was born on September 21, 1938 the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Freeman) Hallberg at Minneapolis, MN. After her marriage to Melvin Brooks they lived in Minneapolis and Colorado, and had eleven children together. She enjoyed spending time with her family and always had a big smile for them. Ruth also shared her time with her long-time friend of 45 years, Frank Lee Malmi

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Luxton and Steven Brooks, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and two brothers Charles and Dale Dennis and one sister LaVonne.

She is survived by nine children, John Brooks of Minnesota, Gary (Mary) Brooks of St. Louis Park, MN, Mark (Monika) Brooks of Columbia Heights, MN, David (Lorraine) Brooks of Las Vegas, NV, Lisa Lahr (Leroy), Justin Brooks, Darla Brooks and Lori Coenen all of St. Cloud, MN, Natalie (Miles) Lee of Sartell, MN, 31 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren, her step-father James Franklin of Staples, MN, two brothers Terrence and James Alan and one sister Noreen other relatives and many friends.

Jesus I pray you bring lots of comfort to all her kids and grandkids. I have great memories of you Aunt Ruth. Laying in bed drinking Tab.Reading those True Stories with mom. Spending time at your vacation cabin at the Lake. You coming up North . I think of you every time I hear tgat song Mama has a squeeze box she wears on her chest. All those fun pictures you took with mom. Lots of make up and silly faces. Just so many memories . I thank you for each one. God has Blessed us with you. You will be missed and for ever loved.

R I P Aunt Ruth. A very strong , Loving and full of smiles Women. As God takes you to his glory land where you are now truly free, we will always have you in our hearts where The BIG RED SMILE OF JOY AND LOVE will remain forever.
