Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2012 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Roland J. “Rollie” Lahr, age 74 of St. Cloud who passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at home with his family at his side. Reverend Greg Lieser will officiate. Entombment will take place in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 11:30 a.m. on Monday at the church. The Moose Lodge will have their ritual at 7:00 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

Rollie was born on August 15, 1937 in St. Martin Township, Minnesota to Roman and Loretta (Mohs) Lahr. He married Marlene Krantz on October 29, 1960 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Spring Hill. Throughout his life he worked at Landy Meat Packing 19 years, the Burlington Railroad for six years, and Champion International from 1982 until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, The Moose Lodge #1400, the Knights of Columbus Council #5548, Eagles Aerie #622, and the Waite Park American Legion Silver Star Post #428.

Rollie enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, camping, deer hunting, and wood working in the garage. He especially treasured the time spent with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marlene; children, Debborah (Dave) Bistodeau of Alexandria, Ronald (Kay) of St. Augusta, Randy (MargieAnn) of Richmond, Pamela (Dan) Butkowski of St. Joseph, and Dean (Nikki) of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Michael, Jordan, Staci, Mitchell, Chad, Kyle, Megan, Brent, Katelyn, Connor, and Isaac; great-grandchild, Blake; brothers, Gordon (Linda), Virgil (Kathy), Earl (Marlene), Leon (Jeanne), and Harold (Liz); sisters, Doreen Kalkbrenner, Joyce (Jim) Wait, Kathleen (John) Hierlmaier, Linda (Gary) Gruber; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother-in-law, Edward Kalkbrenner.
