Betty L. Brandl
November 26, 1927 – May 23, 2025

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park for Betty L. Brandl, age 97, of St. Joseph formerly of Waite Park and St. Cloud who passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Woodcrest of Country Manor in St. Joseph. Reverend Brady Keller will officiate. Entombment will take place at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to service on Friday at the Church in Waite Park.
Betty was born on November 26, 1927, in Sauk Centre to Ben and Barb (Zencius) Minette. She married Alcuin Brandl on June 1, 1951 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Betty and Al lived in Waite Park most of their lives, raising their girls. Betty was employed and retired from JC Penney’s in St. Cloud.
She enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching, polka dancing, and of course her face lit- up when family arrived. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and she loved to socialize with her fellow Old Time dancers at various music festivals and at the Waite Park American Legion. She was known for baking her crescent rolls and special recipe cut- out cookies for every holiday. She was a member of the Waite Park Legion and NARVE (National Association of Railroad and Veteran Employees).
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Joe) Heinen of St. Joseph, and Lori (Dan) Rebischke of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Ryan (Barbara) Heinen of St. Martin, Scott (Emma) Heinen of St. Joseph, Sean (Rachel) Rebischke , of Fargo, ND, Julie (Paul) Keane of Lake City, Dena (Matt) Bowman of Fargo, ND; great-grandchildren; Macie, Evan, Joseph, Andrew, James, Molly, Micah, Michael Joseph, Michael Sean, Magdalyn, Jack, Maria and Edmund. She is also survived by her brother- in-law, Roger Brandl of Lakeville.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alcuin in 1994; siblings and their spouses Al (Louise) Minette, Regine (Allen) Kulzer, Mary Ann (Ron) Rieland, John (Dorothy) Minette as well as Al’s family, Andy and Alma Brandl, Phyllis (Carl) Lemke, Beatrice (Bert) Bisping, and Patricia Brandl. She was also preceded in death by her dancing partner and friend, Elmer Lahr in 2019.
