Memorial Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Donna Mae Paggen, 82, of St. Wendel will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in St. Wendel. Donna passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Friday, November 29, 2024 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta. Reverend Gregory Mastey will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph, MN, and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church. Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Donna was born on March 14, 1942 in Opole to the late Ernest and Teresa (Kulig) Smith. She graduated from Holdingford High School. Donna traveled a lot prior to marriage, living in Minneapolis, Seattle and Fargo for work. She married David Paggen on May 14, 1988. They owned and operated Dave’s Auto Repair in St. Joseph. She was a member of St. Columbkille Parish and Christian Women, St. Therese Mission Group and the St. Stephen American Legion Post #221 Auxiliary where she was past secretary.
Donna enjoyed puzzles, reading, playing cards “500”, bingo, snowmobiling with the Sno-Flyers and above all spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her step-daughter, Chris Bass of Tuscon, AZ; granddaughter, Lisa (Dave) Malecky of Seattle, OR; siblings, Betty Turk of Sauk Rapids, Ron (Kathy) Smith of St. Joseph; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave in 2013; and brother, Bob Smith.
Memorials are preferred.
