Elaine G. "Lainie" Ruegemer

August 26, 1949 – March 13, 2023

A Gathering of Family and Friends Celebrating the Life of Elaine G. “Lainie” Ruegemer age 73 of Lady Lake, Florida and formerly of St. Cloud will be 4:00 p.m. until 8: 00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud. Lainie passed away on March 13, 2023. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, St. Cloud.

Lainie was born on August 26, 1949 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Martin and Viola (Rausch) Ashfeld. She married Earl N. Ruegemer on November 29, 1969 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Watkins. Lainie was employed by the paper mill in Sartell for many years, retiring in 2009. She was a former member of St. Peter’s Parish. Lainie loved playing softball, bowling and dancing any chance she got.

Lainie will be remembered by many for her boisterous laugh and ability to make friends with everyone.
Lainie is survived by her daughter, Shannon Orcutt; granddaughters, Aleisha, Amber and Autumn all of St. Cloud; sisters and brothers, Georgie (Gene) Merten of Kimball, Vern (Rosie) of Rockville, Darrel (Wendy) of St. Cloud, Dave (Lorraine) of Cold Spring, Susie (Frank) Horvat of Medina, Ohio, Martin, Jr. “Butch” (Diane) of Casa Grande, Arizona; and special friend Mark Doffing, who helped Lainie during her declining health.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl on July 3, 2010; son, Shawn on September 30, 2005; and sister, Arlene Blaisdell.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

A Life well lived is a legacy of hope and strength and grace, a gift from someone who has made our world a better place. Lainie the struggles of loss are real. You’re by yourself, you want to be with people, You’re with people, you want to be alone. You’re home and you want to go out. You’re out you want to go home. All I can say is you will be missed so very bad. I love you, and you’ll be in my heart forever.

So sorry for your loss. She was a great person she will be missed.

Laine was a special friend. Her zest to live everyday to the fullest will be missed along with her laughter. Our Minnesota link and fond travels memories will always be with us. We know you’re partying and dancing in heaven!
