Helen was born November 28, 1933, in Long Prairie MN to Charles and Anna (Pfieffer) Finch. She married Edmund Schramel on October 28, 1952, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. They raised four children together on the southeast side of St. Cloud. Helen enjoyed many years camping with Ed, their children and grandchildren, mainly around the Alexandria area where they always had a seasonal RV spot. Helen and Ed loved to get up early and go out fishing on the lake in their boat. Stocking up on Sunnies to have a fish fry with family.
Helen was a woman of endless energy and was likely only found sitting still if she had a grand baby on her lap or a crochet hook in her hand. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, baking, tending to her vegetable garden, and playing card games. Helen had a creative spirit and spent hours knitting and crocheting beautiful doilies and Afghans that she would gift to her family and friends.
She is survived by her children; Debra Dominguez of Albuquerque, NM, Edmund (Deb) Schramel of Mooresville, NC, and Gary (Jenny) Schramel of Sauk Centre; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; her brother Bob Finch of Pueblo, CO; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; her husband Ed; daughter Kathy; sisters Donna and Susan, and brother Charles.
