James Janey

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December, 20, 2024 at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in St. Cloud for James A. Janey, age 90, of St. Cloud who passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024 at Cherrywood South in St. Cloud. Reverend Scott Pogatchnik will officiate. Burial with military honors will take place at Calvary Cemetery, St. Cloud.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Jim was born on January 27, 1934 in St. Cloud to the late Anthony and Anna (Fuerstenberg) Janey. He graduated from Cathedral High School and joined the United States Air Force. He returned to St. Cloud and graduated from St. John’ s University. Jim married Judy Schaefer on August 5, 1961 at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Jim lived most of his life in St. Cloud and was employed as an accountant. He was a member of St. John Cantius Parish.
He enjoyed traveling with Judy, fixing things and above all treasured time with loved ones (especially his grandchildren).
Jim is survived by his children, Patricia of Roseville, Thomas (Jung Min) of Seoul, South Korea, Steven (Lori) of Bloomington and Anne Marie (Eduardo) De La Vega Duque of Barcelona, Spain; and six grandchildren, Andrew, Benjamin, Alexandra, Isabelle, Luca and Francesca.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Judy in 2014; brothers, Sylvester and Ralph.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
