A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud for Janice M. Bristol, age 70, of Mound, and formerly of St. Joseph. Jan passed away peacefully December 12, 2024 at her home after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Entombment will take place in the St. Joseph Parish Cemetery Columbarium in St. Joseph. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.
Jan was born on November 14, 1954 in St. Cloud to Wilfred and Hildegard (Wasner) Taufen. She graduated from Apollo High School in 1973. She also attended St. Cloud Vocational and Rasmussen Business College where she received her degree for court reporting. She started her own business, Q & A Court Reporting before retiring in March of 2017.
Jan married Bradley Matthew Bristol on October 10, 1980 at the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chanhassen, MN. They lived on Lake Minnetonka in Mound, MN for 40 years. She enjoyed spending time on their boat “Amber”, traveling to Arizona, Nevada and California and trips to Laughlin, NV with her twin sister Joyce. They also attended trips to Twinsburg, OH for Twinsfest, a festival for twins held every year in August for several years. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends, dancing, watching and betting on sports, gardening and canning tomatoes (Canning Gone Wild) with her twin sister.
Jan is survived by her husband Brad of Mound, sisters Shirley (Brian) McCoy of Sauk Centre, Carol (Earl) Bauer of St. Cloud and Joyce (Kevan) Rosenow of St. Cloud and brothers Marvin Taufen of Brainerd and John (Julie) Taufen of St. Joseph.
Preceding Jan in death were her parents Hildegard (1993) and Wilfred (1999), brothers Allen (1961), Thomas (1973), Reynold (2017) and brother-in-law Earl (2018).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to fight pancreatic cancer at Pancan.org.

We are sorry we couldn’t be there to give our condolences in person. We will greatly miss aunt Jan and know she is in a good place and will see us again.
