Mary A. "Marie" Peternell

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Mary A. “Marie” Peternell,  age 91, of St. Stephen will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in St. Stephen. Marie died on Monday, May 14, 2007 at the St. Cloud Hospital. The Rev. Robert Harren will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call between 4-9 pm on Wednesday and after 9:30 am on Thursday at the St. Stephen Parish Hall in St. Stephen. St. Stephen Christian Mothers will pray at 7 pm on Wednesday at the parish hall in St. Stephen followed by the parish prayers at 7:30 pm. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.

Marie was born on August 14, 1915 in Opole, MN to Isidore and Catherine (Schnieder) Kuklok. She married Thomas P. Peternell on Oct. 17, 1938 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Opole, MN. She and her husband farmed in Brockway Township, Stearns County most of their married life, retiring in 1975. She was a 4-H adult leader for many years, a member of the Immaculate Conception Mission Group, St. Stephen parish, Christian mothers and parish quilters.

Survivors include her daughter Rita (Everett) Sobania of St. Stephen; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; sister and brother: Evelyn Neis of St. Cloud and John Raymond Kuklok of Sauk Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas in 1993, daughter Pauline Ristow 1994, son-in-law Calvin Ristow 1993, sisters Pauline Kuklok, infant sister Mary, brothers Edward, Bernard, Philip, Roman, Thomas, Ambrose and Sylvester.
