Mike was born on February 7, 1954 to Leo and Helen (Bachel) Lipinski in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He grew up in the Rockville area and graduated from ROCORI High School. He later attended the St. Cloud Technical and Community College. Mike worked for Stearns County in both the Administrative Center and Courthouse, retiring in 2012 after 30 plus years of service.

Mike was a loving brother and uncle and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching or occasionally attending the Minnesota Vikings, Twins, and Wild games. He was also a devout St. Cloud Rox fan and faithfully attended every home game. He will be remembered for his happy go lucky demeanor and enjoyment of the simple things; such as sitting on an inner tube, in the middle of the lake, with a beer.

He is survived by his siblings, Rita (Richard) Menke of Sturgeon Lake, Robert (Carol) of Phoenix, AZ, Daniel (Patti) of Kalispell, MT, Leon (Jayee) of Holbrook, AZ, Kathleen (Terry) Kelley, Atoka, TN, and Lori Posterick of St. Joseph; ten nieces and nephews, twelve great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sandra and Patricia (Al) Schug; and nephew, Zach Posterick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Loved watching all the Vikings games with Mike at Howies the last couple of years. One of my all-time favorite people to cheer and jeer about the purple with. He was very welcoming and friendly and always knew how to have a good time. I’ll never forget shouting “Super Bowl!!!!!!” with Mike every time the Vikings made a big play, or sarcastically if things weren’t going their way.

We enjoyed watching the Vikings games at Howies with Mike. It was always a good time. Mike was a great guy and will be missed by many many friends. With Our Deepest Sympathies , Tom & Aryliss Moulzolf

I met Mike at Work Out World a decade ago and struck up a conversation with him. After that, I always enjoyed our visits at the gym.

After WOW closed, I always made an effort to say “hi” to Mike at Rox games. He was the most knowledgeable Rox fan out there and I always enjoyed our talks while watching the games.

Mike always had his beer cooler, his transistor radio and his net. But most importantly, he always had a smile on his face and always had a great attitude.

He will really be missed at Rox games. I promise to toast Mike with a Miller Lite at my first game this Summer. I hope the Rox will do some type of recognition for him at the Home Opener. A moment of silence would be nice and maybe his net can be perched up in his spot for the night.

Thank you Mike for all of our great conversations, you will be missed.

I got to know Mike at Midtown Fitness. Plus we found out we both went to church in Rockville as youngsters and attended Rocori. My husband knew him at work. Mike and i shared a lot of laughs at Midtown Fitness and Mike easily made friends. We miss him. I learned a lot about sports from Mike.RIP Mike!

I enjoyed working with Mike at the Courthouse for 28 years before he retired. Partied with him at the Daytona 500 as sold him and Brian our extra tickets. Had the best time. He loved his beer. He will be missed.

Sorry for your loss. It was great watching football games with Mike at Howies and it was especially great that we got to see Mike last Friday. RIP dear friend, you’ll be deeply missed
