Richard was born on November 5, 1948 to Arnold and Regina (VonBokern) Loehr in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School in 1967. After High School, he was drafted in the United States Army and honorably served his country during the Vietnam War; receiving the Bronze Star for his meritorious service. Upon his return, he was united in marriage to Rebecca M. Torgerson on May 11, 1974 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Dick worked for the United States Postal Service as a sorting clerk, retiring after 42 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the St. Cloud Eastside VFW #4847.

Dick was loving husband, father and grandfather and especially enjoyed the time he spent with his granddaughter, Harper. When he was younger, he enjoyed playing softball, but more recently he simply enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Becky; children, LeeAnn (fiancé, Tyrone Reed) Loehr and Tom (fiancé, Kim Bechtold); granddaughter, Harper Loehr; brothers, Arnold, Jr. “Butch”, and Maurice; brother-in-law, Ed Adamski; sister-in-law, Rachel Loehr; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Patricia (Joe) McKibbon, Donna Adamski, Shirley (Dick) Walstrom, Ken Loehr, and Alcuin (Shirley) Loehr.

A special thank you to the staff of the St. Cloud Hospital ICU and Oncology units for their loving and compassionate care of Dick.

I am so very sorry Becky for you and your family’s loss. I appreciated the time I did have getting to know him, and Dick breaking my habit of putting his drink on a coaster 😊 My deepest sympathy, and regret I could not make it to the service.

great guy. Shake them dice up in heaven

To Dicks family, so be sorry for your loss. I worked at the Waite Park plant for 7 years. He’d punch in at 5, as we were punching out for lunch. He didn’t look too in enthused with his toothpick in place. He was kind and always considerate. Wish he’d had a lot more years of retirement to enjoy. RIP big Dick, with so many of your fellow coworkers, Pauly, Eddie, Sid, Dickie, Gary, Rollie. Gone but never forgotten

Accept our sincerest condolences Becky, LeeAnn/TY, Tom/Kim
and Granddaughter Harper who Grandpa Dick had a special affection for. Dick will be missed and not forgotten.

My favorite memories are going to one of the last Twins games at the old Met Stadium, and seeing the AWA Wrestling event live on Christmas Eve in the early 80’s with my Dad and Dick. Great memories. Love and prayers to Becky, LeeAnn, and Tom.
