Shirley A. Laudenbach Hohnstadt

January 26, 1939 – November 13, 2022

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Shirley A. Laudenbach Hohnstadt, age 83, of St. Cloud.  Shirley passed away peacefully on November 13 at her home.  Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate.  Entombment will take place in the Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, November 20 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and will continue one hour prior to Mass at the church on Monday.

Shirley was born on January 26, 1939, in St. Cloud; the second of three children to Louis and Thyra (Langas) Hirschfelt. A member of the class of 1957, she graduated from Technical High School and went on to marry William “Bill” Laudenbach Jr. on June 9, 1958. They had 5 children and shared 39 loving years together. She married Myron Hohnstadt on January 10, 2003. Shirley and Myron later divorced but remained close friends.

Shirley was predominately a homemaker caring for her children but worked various other jobs throughout her life. She was best known for her elaborate wedding and special occasion cakes; she also enjoyed crafts and taking a turn on the dance floor. Shirley cherished spending time with her 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters Pamela Laudenbach of St. Joseph, Kathy (Greg) Bokovoy of St. Cloud, Lori Laudenbach of Paynesville, Sandy (Ken) Konz of Kimball, daughter-in-law Sandy Laudenbach of St. Cloud, her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother Rick (Margaret) Hirschfelt of Coon Rapids, and good friend Myron Hohnstadt. She is also survived by her brother/sisters-in-laws:  Hattie Laudenbach, Theresa Schmidt, Margaret (Pete) Fleck, Augie Laudenbach, Lucy Laudenbach, Arlene Laudenbach, Andy Bechtold, Lenny (Marge) Laudenbach, Dick Taufen, Rich Witte, Mike (Irene) Laudenbach, Dan (Sue) Laudenbach and Toni Nelson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, son Roger, sister Ginger (Bill) Allen, and brother/sisters-in-laws:  Jerry Laudenbach, June (Gilbert) Schmidt, Earl (Rose) Laudenbach, Irene Laudenbach, Bernie Laudenbach, Bernadette Bechtold, Ernie Laudenbach, Rosie Taufen, Ceil Witte, and Ron Nelson.
