Vicky Marie Hesse

A Celebration of Life for Vicky Hesse will be held on Monday, November 18th, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Her nephew, Michael Gruber, will officiate. The Family would like to invite those attending to wear the color purple in memory of Vicky.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Vicky was born in Los Angeles, CA to Boyd and Imogene Overman on September 29, 1964. She lived in the Los Angeles area until she met and married her U.S. Navy Sailor stationed in California, John Hesse. They wed on May 20, 1989, and once married, the newlyweds moved to Minnesota. Vicky had a passion for insurance, creating a successful career helping people and businesses with their insurance decisions. Over the years, Vicky worked for RGV Insurance, Bremer, Wells Fargo and USI.

Vicky loved spending time at her cabin on Goodners Lake with John, John’s brother Mike, and Sister-in-Law, Lynn. They spent a lot of time pontooning and soaking in the sights and sounds of lake life. Family and friends will miss enjoying coffee with Vicky, her sipping on an extra hot Caribou Caramel High Rise with oat milk. Anytime someone was up for having coffee, she was all over it. Her spunky attitude including all the smiles and eye rolls made every story better, and she was the perfect partner to hit the local craft sales with.

Vicky passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital on Saturday, November 2, after a long and courageous battle with Scleroderma. Even though Vicky was so often in pain in recent years, she remained amazingly positive and never let anyone know she was hurting. Up to the end, she maintained her joyful sense of humor packed with the best small one liners, even a couple of hours before we lost her.

Vicky is survived by her husband, John of St. Cloud; Sister, Linda Young of Washington State; Brothers-in-Law, Al Hesse (Kay), Mike Hesse (Lynn), Mark Hesse, and Jim Gruber; Nieces and Nephews, Annette Skurlock, Angela Richter, Sara Picharad, Danielle Young, Mark Dodson, Shawn and Ryan Sikorski, Tina Kurzhals, Ryan, Joey, and Michael Gruber, Dustin Hesse and Heidi Morseth. She also leaves behind her beloved cats, Yeti and Elsa.

Vicky was proceeded in death by her Parents, Imogene and Boyd Overman; Mother and Father-in-Law, Marge and Adolph Hesse; Sister, Tracy Dodson; Sister-in-Law, Karen Gruber; Brother-in-Law, Doug Young; and Niece, Audrey Young.

There to meet her at the rainbow bridge were Magnum, Buddy, and Oreo, jumping into her angel arms purring…except Magnum, who greeted her with a hiss.

Memorials are preferred for a donation to be made to the Scleroderma Foundation on Vicky’s behalf.
