Elmer T. "Buck" Ganzer

February 23, 1925 – March 4, 2021

Elmer T. “Buck” Ganzer, 96, of St. Cloud rode off into the sunset, flanked by angels and met by the Duke, on Thursday, March 4, 2021.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4-8 PM on Friday, March 26th at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.   Burial will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls at a later date.
Buck was born on February 23, 1925 in Richmond, Minnesota to Arnold and Mary (Ressemann) Schueller. At an early age, his mother passed away and he was raised in St. Cloud by his aunt and uncle, Jake and Rose Ganzer.  Buck attended Tech High School and proudly served in the US Navy during WWII.  He was stationed in the South Pacific after service he returned to St. Cloud.  On September 18, 1947, Buck married Bernadine A. Malikowski.  He returned to his previous employer Great Northern Railroad which later became Burlington Northern in Waite Park until his retirement. 
Buck loved to dance and travel. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching cowboys – John Wayne movies were the best – Pilgrim.
He is survived by his sons, David (Glenda) of Galena, Illinois, Gary of Sauk Rapids; granddaughters, Rene’ and Darcie; great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Gilbert, Orion, Chenise and Irene; precious partner, best friend and dancing companion, Doris Thomas; half-brother and sisters, Norbert (Clara) Schueller, Dottie Weber (Pete-deceased), Teresa (Steve) Dalsin; sisters-in-law, Sue  Schueller (Paul -deceased) and Donnis Schueller (Dick-deceased); and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; former spouse, Bernadine; daughter-in- law, Karen; brothers, Lawrence (Loretta) Schueller, Harvey (Leona) Ganzer; sisters, Marie (Oliver) Counter, Lucille (Francis) Slavik, Adella (Edwin) Linn, Veronica (Vernon) Hoschette, Florence (Sylvester) Walz; half-brothers and sister, Paul Schueller, Dick Schueller, Mildred (Russell) Sindt; and brother-in-law, Pete Weber.
